Natuurlijk zat ik al te popelen om iets vast te leggen.
Dus vrijdagavond 1 mei zat ik klaar met mijn I-Pad.
Van tevoren had ik al eea uitgezocht waar we graag willen zitten.
Voor de eerste nacht hebben we Mammoth Hot Springs gekozen. We slapen dan in een Frontier Cabin met 2 Queen beds.
The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Cabins—named after nearby springs—offers a warm welcome to summer and winter visitors. The hotel, as it stands today was built in 1936, while retaining a wing of guest rooms originally built in 1911, and features its signature Map Room containing a large wooden map of the United States constructed of 15 different woods from nine countries. Guest enjoy a variety of in-park accommodations as well as the opportune chance of spotting elk grazing outside the hotel
Frontier Cabin Frontier cabins are simple yet comfortable cabin-style units with a shower, sink and toilet. No telephones. Typically two queen beds are included. Televisions, radios, and air conditioning are not available in park lodging.
Voor de tweede en derde nacht hebben we ook een Frontier Cabin, nu met 2 doubles, geboekt bij Lake Lodge. Dat ligt vrij centraal in het park zodat we hiervandaan veel kunnen zien en doen!
Lake Lodge Cabins features a main lodge with a large porch offering a spectacular rocking chair view of Yellowstone Lake. The main lodge is constructed of logs and is the focal point of this classic and comfortable building. Located behind the lodge are 186 cabins with private baths are available in recently renovated Western and Frontier styles as well as the basic Pioneer cabins. Lake Lodge is open from early June through the end of September. The main lodge houses a delightful lobby where two fireplaces, a lounge and gift store warmly beckon guests to linger and chat.

Onze laatste nacht in Yellowstone Park hebben we geboekt in Old Faithful Snow Lodge.
Completed in 1999, the Snow Lodge is the newest of the park’s full service hotels, and has been recognized with the Cody Award for Western Design and Travel and Leisure’s Inn of the Month. The heavy timber construction, exterior log columns and cedar shingle roof were part of the design that is destined to make the Snow Lodge a significant example of classic “parkitecture.” The Snow Lodge also features a full-service dining room, quick service “Geyser Grill” and the charming Bear Den Gift Store.
Hier ook weer een Frontier cabin met 2 doubles.

Na Yellowstone Park gaan we naar Grand Teton.
Ook hiervoor was het al mogelijk om een hotel te boeken dus na aanraden van diverse hebben we hiervoor Ranch Inn uitgekozen. We hebben hier een Luxury Room genomen. Dit hotel is inclusief continentaal ontbijt!

Als we vanaf Moab naar Rocky Mountains National Park rijden, hebben we een tussenstop nodig omdat die aftsand te ver rijden is.
Hiervoor hebben we Glenwood Springs uitgekozen.
1 van de redenen hiervoor is dat er een mega groot heet waterbron zwembad aanwezig.
Dat lijkt ons heerlijk om daar aan het einde van de dag lekker in uit te rusten.
Ook hebben we dan de volgende ochtend de tijd om de prachtige wandeling van Hanging Lake te maken.
Die nacht van vrijdag 5 augustus zullen we slapen in het motel Glenwood Springs Inn.
Hier hebben we een standaard kamer met 2 Queen bedden. Ook bij dit hotel zit ontbijt erbij!

Als eerste heb ik een lodge (cabin) geboekt bij Black Bear Lodge in Grand Lake. Deze plaats ligt aan de westelijke kant van Rocky Mountains National Park. Hiervandaan rijden via de Trail Ridge Road naar het oosten.
We verblijven hier in cabin 16.

De overnachting in Cody, net voor het park Yellowstone, hebben we een gewone Best Western Sunset Motor Inn gekozen. Wel met zwembad en ontbijt erbij!!

Hier hebben we een 2-Queens bedroom. Dit hotel heb ik met een AAA-rate geboekt. Dat geld ook voor ons omdat we ANWB lid zijn. Scheelt toch weer wat....
Als voorlopig laatste heb ik Metropolitan Inn geboekt voor Salt Lake City. Lekker een hotel wat in het centrum ligt, met gratis ontbijt, parkeren en zwembad!
Hier hebben we de Murphy Suite gekozen. Net iets groter als een gewone 2 persoonkamer dus lekker ff wat luxe tussendoor!

You will also be able to relax on the comfortable leather couch, a perfect spot to catch up on that book or magazine that you have been wanting to read. Zo ik heb niet stil gezeten de laatste weken maar gewoon geen tijd gehad om het hier te up-daten.
Ons eerste hotel in Denver is geregeld.
Dat is Ramada Inn Downtown geworden. We zaten eerst nog naar een vliegveld hotel te kijken maar omdat we de volgende dag toch in Denver willen rondkijken, rijden we na de vlucht nog een paar miles naar de stad. Hier hebben we een 2 double bedroom. Niet met ontbijt omdat we de volgende dag toch bij IHOP willen gaan ontbijten :-)

Het hotel/motel in Zion is Zion Park Motel geworden. Ik wilde eerst een andere kiezen maar deze was beschikbaar met een goede prijs.
Dit hotel is gelegen in het gezellige dorpje Springdale, met zwembad.
Hier blijven we 2 nachten slapen in 2 Queens beds. geen ontbijt maar ook hier hebben ze vast lekkere ontbijt tentjes.
In Monument Valley blijven we er midden in slapen! In een cabin op Gouldings Campground.

Hier blijven we 1 nachtje voordat we naar Monument Valley gaan.
Voorlopig weer de laatste, en ook gelijk het laatste hotel van de vakantie in Denver...
nu gekozen voor een wijk meer in zuidwesten zodat we vanaf de Rocky Mountains via the Peak to Peak Highway hierheen kunnen rijden.
Het is een Best Western geworden, deze via Expedia.nl en haalmeeruitjekaart.nl geboekt. Hierdoor krijg je ook nog cashback! Mooi meegenomen toch?!

Eentje heb ik gewijzigd. In Zion zat ik al te twijfelen tussen Zion Park Motel en Cnayon Ranch Motel. De laatste is wel wat duurder maar volgens mij een veel leuke plek met veel groen en meer plek. Dus het is die geworden! Zion Park Motel is geannuleerd en Canyon Ranch Motel is geboekt voor de 2 nachten in Zion.
